Career opportunities at Columbia University are posted online. You can apply and track applications for open positions using our online job boards. Follow the instructions to search and apply for jobs, create a candidate profile, and manage your application.

Please note:

  • You are considered an external candidate if you are not currently employed, or have never been employed, at Columbia University.
  • You must meet all minimum stated qualifications listed on the job description, fill out all requested information, and attach required documents for a submission to be complete.

Academic Jobs

Columbia University is always looking to add exceptional faculty to the university community. Those interested in applying for a faculty position can view current openings by clicking on the career site link below.

Applicants will be instructed to create an Interfolio Dossier account in order to apply for an academic job. If you need assistance, please review Interfolio's Help Resources.

Staff Jobs

Staff jobs include all full‑time, part‑time, and temporary non‑academic and support roles that contribute to the operations of Columbia University.

Applicants will be instructed to create an account in order to apply for a staff job. The following steps can help you navigate the staff job search:

  • Searching for Staff Jobs:
    • You can search current openings for regular full-time or part-time, non-instructional positions at all Columbia University campus locations.
    • Use the search filters to narrow your search.
    • Click on the Position Title to see the full job description.
  • Applying to Staff Jobs:
    • Click Apply on the job description to start your application.
    • Enter the email you will use throughout the application process for communication between you and the recruitment team; first‑time applicants will be prompted to create a password.
    • After answering all application questions, preview your application, then click Submit Application.
  • Applicant Profile and the Applicant Portal:
    • Your applicant profile is created when you apply for a job and can be updated anytime.
    • You can reuse this profile to apply for other jobs without re‑entering your information.
    • Log into the "Applicant Portal" to check application statuses, update your profile or résumé, add references, or withdraw an application.

Student Jobs

Columbia students can find work through work‑study, campus part‑time jobs, internships, and teaching or research assistantships.

Students can also visit their Career Center to find student job opportunities and get support preparing for the job market after graduation.

The Columbia Employment Information Center (CEIC) assists internal and external applicants through support with Columbia’s online application systems, individualized consultations, job‑preparedness workshops, and additional training opportunities.

The Center for Career Education (CCE) helps students reach their personal and professional goals by providing access to networking connections, internships and jobs, comprehensive resources, and customized career counseling.

In-Person and Virtual Drop-in Hours offered Monday — Friday, from 2 p.m. — 4 p.m. during the academic year.
